Podcast: Interview Stranahan’s Master Distiller, Jake Norris (12/2/09)

I thought I’d do something new for Whisky Wednesday this week. I enjoyed my tasting of Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey (CLICK HERE) so much last week that I wanted to know more about the people behind this unique American single malt whiskey. So I contacted the folks at Stranahan’s and asked if they would grant me an interview. The following podcast is my interview with Jake Norris, the head distiller at Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey.
We cover how a volunteer fireman/home brewer & a micro-brewer started the company, what makes the whiskey unique, how a kid from a West Virginia commune literally “drank the water” from a moonshiner’s spring and developed a passion for distilling, how they created the recipe and Stranahan’s unique distillation process, a word about their special bottlings, and so much more!
So sit back, crack open a bottle of Stranahan’s, and enjoy this fascinating look behind the scenes of an American original, and I promise that I hardly talk at all!
